In Leiden, SRBA Controlled Environments (SRBA CE) was asked in 2017 to expand and adapt the existing GMP Grade D and C cleanroom "Sterilization and Cleaning" with a GMP Grade B facility. Consequently, it was inevitable that modifications and expansion to the air ducts had to take place and the utilities had to be relocated. The question was also whether the AHU was capable of providing the required air capacity. The modified Grade B clean room required constructionally additional sluices and a modified layout. On balance, SRBA CE, in collaboration with PP4CE partner Kuijpers, was awarded the engineering and construction contract.
Based on some sketch drawings and a URS, the final design was further developed. After completing the design review and conducting an impact assessment, work was started. Existing walls and ceilings were dismantled. A new layout was then created with additional locks, a pass-through closet and an emergency exit using a break wall. Additional utilities and air provisions, as well as proper commissioning, ensured that the clean room was qualified without problems, according to the required specifications, after the successful final delivery.
Applied product systems: BCPS walls and doors as well as the BPV 100 ceiling system.
Another successful project conducted by PP4CE partners Kuijpers and SRBA CE.
