What goes into completing a large-scale, prestigious new construction project? Director Chayenne Muller, along with general contractor Andrea Trionfi, offers a look at the construction site of the Y-towers in Amsterdam. The Y-towers represent a project that we as SRBA Group are very proud of and in which many of our colleagues are involved. The simultaneous work on the hotel tower and residential tower requires tight planning and a good supply chain, so that the work is carried out as quickly as possible. Check out our work in the film!
It is one of the most spectacular, large-scale construction projects in Amsterdam: the Y-towers. On the IJ bank in Amsterdam-North, two towers have been under construction since 2017: a 114-meter-high hotel tower and a 110-meter-high residential tower. The hotel tower will house the largest hotel in the Benelux, including conference facilities, restaurants, a roof garden and a swimming pool with wellness. SRBA Group is a partner in this project with the Italian contractor Rizziani de Eccher, responsible for the entire completion.
"We are responsible for all metal stud walls, metal stud ceilings, suspended ceilings, painting, smearing and wallpapering in both towers. This is a large and iconic project, where speed is critical to success. Therefore, we are continuously focused on making as many meters as possible." - Chayenne Muller, Director SRBA Group
The speed in this project is not only continuously monitored by the responsible people within SRBA Group, transport, the supply chain and SRBA Modules also play a crucial role in this. The transportation and supply chain are streamlined so that materials are delivered efficiently, allowing SRBA Group mechanics to work quickly, but also all other construction parties to work continuously. On the role of SRBA Modules, Chayenne says:
"The plinth of this building is very special. We are dealing with a lot of different acoustic ceilings here, including 8,000 meters of acoustic spray ceiling. Our binder from SRBA Construction worked out the plinth perfectly and our colleagues from SRBA Modules fabricated prefabricated coves, numbered them and brought them to the construction site. With these prefabricated modules, we save a lot of time because any fitter can assemble them."
For Italian contractor Rizziani de Eccher, the Y-towers are the first project in the Netherlands and thus also a first introduction to SRBA Group. The cooperation goes well according to general contractor Andrea Trionfi:
"The drawings and information we receive from SRBA Group are always correct and very precise, in addition, the supply chain is fast and communication with both the people on site and in the office is fast and smooth."

The Y-towers project is eminently a project that fits with SRBA Group, where in different divisions we are working every day on spaces for the world of tomorrow such as these kinds of iconic hotel and residential towers. Are you curious about our experiences and work in the Y-towers or other projects? We'll talk to you about these and other projects.
